ADC Lacks Credibility, Renewed Hope Agenda Yielding Results — TDF

The Democratic Front (TDF) has described as “thoughtless” the position of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, regarding the recent hike in fuel prices following the ongoing Middle East conflict.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Mallam Danjuma Muhammad, and Secretary, Chief Wale Adedayo, the group questioned why any individual or group would criticise the President Bola Tinubu administration over global developments beyond its control.
“It is sad and regrettable that ADC’s morbid desperation for power has deprived the party of conscience and empathy towards the economic plight of Nigerians,” the statement said.
The TDF further condemned the ADC spokesman for claiming that Nigerians were still waiting for the “Renewed Hope” promises, asserting that the President’s agenda was already “crystallising into tangible developments” across various sectors.
The group also accused Abdullahi of hypocrisy for dismissing the administration’s policies as inconsequential.
“We find it hypocritical and irresponsible that Bolaji Abdullahi will feign ignorance of the support and hope given to indigent students through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), and the monumental boost in revenue accruals to the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).
“These revenues have boosted the capacity of sub-national governments to implement social, economic, and infrastructural projects at the grassroots,” the TDF added.
The group noted that before his current role, Abdullahi had authored a piece for the think tank, Agora Policy, where he reportedly hailed NELFUND as a “game changer.”
Highlighting the administration’s achievements, the TDF pointed to massive investments in agriculture aimed at consolidating food security, which it claimed contributed to a reduction in headline inflation.
“We recall that Bolaji Abdullahi served as a minister under the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, during which Nigeria wasted its earnings from crude oil on indiscriminate importation to the detriment of local industries,” the group stated.
The TDF further claimed that the Tinubu administration has completed over 15,000 housing units for low and medium-income earners and trained over 60,000 frontline health workers.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda has also enrolled over 20 million citizens in the National Health Insurance Scheme and achieved a 60% increase in the nation’s annual health budget.
“We, therefore, call on Malam Abdullahi to desist from his campaign of calumny against the Tinubu administration, as it will not benefit the ADC, which is already tainted by the poor public records of its leaders,” the statement concluded.
