2027: Traditional Rulers, Clans Endorse Adejoke Adeyemi for Reps Seat

As the Momentum for the 2027 general elections built up in Kwara State over the weekend as traditional rulers, clan heads, and village leaders in the Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency formally endorsed Hon. Chief (Mrs) Adejoke Mistura Adeyemi to contest for the House of Representatives seat.
The endorsement coincided with a multi-million naira “Mega Empowerment Programme” held in the constituency, where hundreds of residents received tools and capital to boost local entrepreneurship.
The traditional rulers and community heads, who led a cross-section of family representatives to the event, described Hon. Adeyemi as a “tested and trusted daughter of the soil.” They noted that her consistent intervention in the welfare of the grassroots necessitated their decision to back her 2027 ambition.
According to the community leaders, the endorsement is a reflection of the yearnings of the people for “effective and empathetic representation” at the National Assembly.
Speaking during the official presentation of the items, Hon. Adeyemi, a seasoned politician and entrepreneur, stated that the gesture was aimed at bridging the gap between national governance and grassroots needs.
The items distributed at the 2026 edition of the programme included:
9 vehicles and 4 motorcycles for logistics support.
40 deep freezers and 40 power generators.
50 sewing machines, 50 grinding machines, and 50 gas cookers.
500 farming tools for rural farmers, alongside cash grants and food palliatives.
“My motivation remains the amplification of the voices of my constituents,” Hon. Adeyemi said. “Having served at the ward level, I understand the direct impact of bringing governance closer to the people. This empowerment is not just a gift, but a seed for financial independence for our women and youth.”
Beneficiaries who spoke to our correspondent expressed gratitude, noting that the equipment would provide an immediate lifeline for their small businesses.
Hon. Adeyemi has a long-standing record of philanthropy in the state, having previously sponsored medical outreaches, scholarships, and cash grants worth tens of millions of naira for the vulnerable.
