Tinubu’s Administration Deserves Encouragement, Rep. Isiaka Tells Nigerians

Abuja, Nigeria – A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Isiaka Ayokunle, representing Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency of Ogun State, has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s transformative economic agenda. He praised the President for his transparency and significant strides in economic progress since assuming office.
Hon. Isiaka made this appeal during an interview with members of the National Assembly New Media Forum following the presentation of the 2025 budget by President Tinubu to the joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday. The lawmaker lauded the administration’s commitment to building a sustainable and prosperous future for Nigerians despite economic challenges.
“As pressmen, you have been following the trajectory of our economy’s journey over the years. Though it has been tough, there is light at the end of the tunnel. We have made substantial progress, and we must keep moving forward because if we don’t, how do we get to the end of the tunnel?” Hon. Isiaka asked.
He highlighted President Tinubu’s transparency regarding the 2023 and 2024 budgets, noting that funds have been strategically allocated to capital projects and other developmental initiatives. According to him, this level of openness is rare in governance and deserves commendation.
“President Bola Tinubu has been truthful to Nigerians. He boldly told us that the 2023 and 2024 budgets have been moved to capital projects and other promising initiatives. These are things successive governments would have just concealed,” Hon. Isiaka said.
The lawmaker also noted key achievements under Tinubu’s leadership, including GDP growth, reduced inflation, and improved debt repayment. He emphasized the restoration of Nigeria’s foreign reserves to $42 billion within 18 months of Tinubu’s administration, describing it as a testament to the country’s steady economic growth.
“Our external reserves have been restored to $42 billion, a true testament to our steady growth,” he stated.
Hon. Isiaka reassured Nigerians of the government’s commitment to transparency in resource management. He said the National Assembly would continue to hold the government accountable to ensure that all promised projects are completed and beneficial to the people.
“The promises made will be kept, and Nigerians will feel the impact,” he affirmed.
Addressing the 2025 budget, the lawmaker explained its focus on advancing national development goals, particularly in the areas of security and sustainable economic policies. He expressed optimism about the country’s future under the renewed hope agenda of the current administration.
Visibly elated by the ongoing transformation in the country, Hon. Isiaka urged Nigerians to remain united and committed to supporting the government’s efforts toward long-term prosperity.
“We must stay focused and united in support of the renewed hope agenda,” he concluded.
The call comes as the Tinubu administration continues its efforts to tackle economic challenges and deliver on its promises of growth and development for the Nigerian people.
