ABUJA – In a bold move to address the internal crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), senators elected on the party’s platform convened a closed-door session on Thursday.
According to a press statement made available to journalist by Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John, Media Adviser to the Senate Minority Leader, the session led by Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro, the PDP caucus acknowledged the crisis and pledged to work with stakeholders to restore peace and unity within the party.
“The PDP caucus is committed to resolving the crisis and making our party a formidable force once again,” Moro said. “We urge all aggrieved members to sheathe their swords and join us in this effort.”
The caucus called for the withdrawal of all court litigations, emphasizing the need for meaningful discussions to achieve lasting peace.
Moro stressed that party interests must take precedence over personal agendas. “It’s time for us to put the party first and work towards strengthening our ranks.”
The senators reaffirmed PDP’s position as the only hope for Nigerians suffering under the ruling APC’s governance.
“PDP remains the alternative to the APC’s failed leadership,” Moro said. “We must unite and work together to provide a better future for all Nigerians.”
