Otti’s Second Term Divinely Sealed – Reps Member
Emmanuel Onuh
The member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr Obi Aguocha, has declared that the continuity of Governor Alex Otti’s administration beyond 2027 is “divinely sealed.”
Aguocha insisted that Abia State could not afford a return to the era of stagnation and misgovernance.
The lawmaker made the declaration while addressing party faithful, community leaders, and supporters in Abia. He highlighted what he described as the “visible hand of God” in the ongoing transformation of the state under Otti’s leadership.
According to him, the pace, depth, and sincerity of governance currently being witnessed in the state are clear indications that the present administration enjoys divine backing.
He stated that Otti’s emergence and performance had restored hope to a people who had long endured years of neglect, poor infrastructure, and systemic decay. Aguocha noted that from road construction and urban renewal to improvements in healthcare, education, and civil service welfare, Abians were experiencing governance that placed the people at the centre.
“God has sealed the continuity of this administration because it is built on truth, transparency, and service,” Aguocha said. “What we are seeing today in Abia is not accidental. It is the reward of leadership anchored on vision and accountability.”
The lawmaker warned that reversing the gains made so far would amount to sabotaging the future of the state, stressing that Abia had finally found a leader committed to dismantling the old order of waste and replacing it with efficiency and responsibility.
He argued that the sacrifices made to reposition the state would be rendered meaningless if the state were to slide back into what he termed “the dark days of stagnation.”
Aguocha further described Otti as a leader driven by competence rather than sentiment, adding that his policies had begun to rebuild public confidence in government. He commended the governor’s insistence on due process and fiscal discipline, noting that these principles had earned Abia renewed respect both nationally and internationally.
Calling on Abians across political, ethnic, and religious divides, Aguocha urged unity in sustaining the current reform agenda. He emphasized that the 2027 election should not be viewed through the lens of party rivalry but as a collective decision on progress.
“This is not about politics for politics’ sake,” he said. “It is about protecting the future of our children, consolidating development, and ensuring that Abia never returns to the era where promises were plenty but results were absent.”
He concluded by encouraging citizens to remain vigilant and supportive, assuring them that with collective resolve, the state would continue to move forward under purposeful leadership.
