Nollywood Tragedy: Deputy Speaker Kalu Mourns Mr. Ibu, says Nollywood lost iconic comedian.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has mourned the passing of a top Nollywood actor and comedy thespian, Mr. John Okafor popularly known as Mr. Ibu.
According to reports Ibu, reported died at age 62 on Saturday night after years of battling an ailment before his demise.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Levinus Nwabughiogu, the deputy who had earlier expressed optimism about Mr. Ibu’s full recovery said, the late actor contributed to the development of Nollywood through his comical roles in movies.
Kalu also console his immediate family and the Nollywood at large over the loss of the man he described as an “iconic comedian”, stating that the actor will be greatly missed by the entertainment industry and millions of homes and families that he brought laughter and happiness into with his roles.
He prayed God to give the departed an eternal rest.
