The Network of Women with Disabilities (NWD) has joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 65th birthday, describing her as a true champion of inclusion, compassion, and service to humanity.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, the President of the group, Lois Auta, said Senator Tinubu’s life and work have had a profound impact on women with disabilities and on millions of Nigerians through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).
Auta noted that the RHI has provided access to education, healthcare, economic opportunities, and critical support for disadvantaged groups, with its programmes benefitting over 40 million Nigerians.
“She embodies compassion and dedication. Her leadership echoes our call for a Nigeria where women with disabilities are not just seen, but heard and valued,” Auta said.
The group highlighted Senator Tinubu’s advocacy for national progress, from her push for the completion of the National Library to her numerous empowerment drives, describing her as “a voice of hope and an inspiration to women with disabilities.”
“Senator Oluremi Tinubu, we salute you! Your tireless service, warmth, and strength inspire us. We celebrate your legacy and pray for many more years of impactful leadership, good health, and joy,” the statement read in part.
On behalf of women with disabilities nationwide, the Network expressed gratitude for her exemplary leadership and wished her a blessed birthday filled with renewed strength.
