The National Commission For Persons With Disabilities, NCPWD, has summoned the management of KFC to an investigation panel of enquiry to critically address the issue of a case of discrimination against a person with disability making waves round the media involving the son of a former Governor of Ogun State.

In a statement signed by Head Press and Public Relations Unit of the Commission Mbanefo JohnMichaels and made available to Journalist states that The Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons With Disabilities, Dr. James David Lalu had directed that a panel be constituted to unravel the circumstances leading to the case of discrimination as well as examine the actions taken so far in order to forestall a similar occurrence in the future.
“The issue of discrimination is very serious and cannot be taken with levity irrespective of whoever is involved” he asserted.
The ES hinted that the unfortunate incident which negates the provisions of section 1 of the Discrimination Against Persons With Disabilities 2018 (Prohibition) Act will serve as deterrent to others who still think it is business as usual in the maltreatment of Persons With Disabilities in Nigeria.
He further advised the management of KFC to honor the invitation with all sense of responsibility so as not to escalate the current situation.
The meeting has been scheduled to hold on Thursday 4th of April, 2024 at the NCPWD Office in Abuja
