Eric Chelle Super Eagles Plans All-Out Attack Against Rwanda

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are gearing up for their crucial encounter against Rwanda, and coach Eric Chelle is leaving no stone unturned in his quest for victory. According to sources close to the team, Chelle is planning to unleash a potent attacking lineup, featuring two strikers and two wingers.
The team’s second training session in Rwanda suggested that Chelle is treating this game as a cup final. “He’s not leaving anything to chance and so will play two strikers with Osimhen on top and Ademola Lookman as a second striker, like he often plays for his club Atalanta, while Moses Simon is on the left wing and Chukwueze on the right,” a source revealed.
This attacking approach is reminiscent of the Super Eagles’ teams of the 90s, which thrived on all-out attack with players like Rashidi Yekini, Daniel Amokachi, and Samson Siasia. Chelle, a long-time fan of the Super Eagles, is hoping to replicate this success with his current team.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has expressed confidence in the team’s ability to secure a positive result against Rwanda. “Everything has been good, first training session, all the boys in camp, we’re fired up. Of course, we know we have a big job ahead, it comes with the pressure but I keep saying to everyone that this pressure is a privilege so all the boys are feeling that,” he said.
Troost-Ekong acknowledged that Rwanda will be a tough opponent, but expressed confidence in the team’s ability to break them down. “Of course, we have to respect them for their position on the table and I think we understand what they want to do. They have a new coach as well so it’s going to be a very loaded match but we’re just trying to break it down and focus on the things we can control,” he added.
The Super Eagles will be looking to build on their previous performance against Rwanda, where they were denied a first-ever victory in Rwanda by the heroics of goalkeeper Ntwari Fiacre. With their attacking lineup and confident mindset, they will be hoping to secure a crucial win in this encounter.
