Declare a state of emergency on Insecurity in Zamfara State… Group
Nasir Ismail Doka, President of Voice of the Voiceless has urge the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in Zamfara State due to escalating insecurity and the state has suffered too long under violence and bloodshed, leaving its people in fear and despair.
The president made the call while speaking to Journalist in Abuja, Nigeria capital city.
Doka stands firmly against the senseless atrocities, demanding an immediate end to the bloodshed and calling for decisive action to restore peace and security.
He identifies root causes such as poverty, unemployment, lack of education, mining activities, and the availability of small arms and light weapons. The exploitation of mineral resources, particularly gold, further fuels conflict as armed groups vie for control. Breakdown of governance structures and ineffective law enforcement worsen the situation, allowing criminals to operate with impunity.
The violence has led to loss of life, fractured families, and displaced communities, with children denied education, women and girls facing heightened risks of sexual violence, and the elderly living in fear. Doka emphasizes the need for authorities to prioritize safety and well-being, addressing root causes, disarming armed groups, and strengthening law enforcement. Support for affected individuals includes counseling, medical care, and livelihood assistance.
As Zamfara awaits action, Doka remains committed to ending the violence, advocating for justice, accountability, and peace in the region.
