
COMMISSION OF INQUIRY REQUEST FOR DOCUMENTS INTO THE SALES OF BENUE STATE GOVERNMENT ASSETS.

The commission of inquiry into the sale/ lease of government assets, Companies markets ( both state and local Government markets), and Moribund companies in today’s sitting have requested Benue Links Nigeria Limited to submit documents to back up the sales of Benue state government-owned property in Ilorin, Lagos, and Edo state as well as the documents backing the sales of unserviceable buses in the company.
This was the resolve of the commission when the General Manager of the Company, Alexander Fanafa appeared before the commission to give account of the sales of the company’s property.
Also in a related development, the Permanent Secretary, of the Bureau of Internal Affairs was asked by the commission to provide documents to back up the sales of over 10 buses of the bureau which according to them were unserviceable.
The commission also listened to finger of God spirit and power ministry senior Pastor Adakole Joe who brought a petition before the commission against former Deputy Governor of Benue state, Engr. Benson Abounu over the land he claimed was leased to them in Otukpo by the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources to build their church.
The senior pastor, Finger of God Church said the then Deputy Governor, Engr. Benson Abounu came claiming he bought the land and brought in a bulldozer to demolish their church and some of the church properties were vandalized in the process.
After listening to those who appeared before the commission of inquiry today, the chairman of the commission, Honorable Justice Apollos Paul Idi (RTD) adjourned the matters to another date to allow those who appeared today to provide more documents and for the commission to invite other people who are mentioned in the matters for their own account.
