Alleged Terrorism Financing: Reps Threaten Arrest Warrant On Binance Holdings CEOs

The House of Representatives Committee on Financial Crimes has resolved to issue arrest warrant on the Chief Executive Officers of Binance Holdings Limited following the non appearance of the company before the committee after several summons.
Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Ginger Obinna gave the ruling in Abuja during an investigative hearing to ascertain ithe company’s alleged involvement in terrorism financing, money laundering and other related financial crimes based on petition against it by two Civil Society Groups.
The Hon. Ginger led committee who were not pleased by Binance legal representatives claim at the hearing insisted through a motion passed at the investigative hearing that Binance Chief Executive must appear in person to defend the allegation against the company.
Earlier, Binance Holdings legal representatives had claimed that the arrest of two executives of the company upon arrival into the country by operatives of the National Security Adviser (NSA) could have hindered the appearance of the chief executives to the Committee’s investigative hearing.
The Federal Government had since clampdown on Binance for allegedly fixing foreign exchange rate which is currently affecting the Naira.
