
Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas Leads Call for Healthy Living at Bauchi Grand Road Walk

Prominent political leaders and stakeholders gathered in Bauchi State on Saturday, December 13, for the 7th Annual Grand Road Walk, an event focused on promoting physical fitness, social inclusion and national unity.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas who was represented at the event by the Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, Hon. Kabiru Amadu. Other dignitaries in attendance included Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed; serving senators; the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly; members of the National and State Assemblies; senior civil servants; and corporate partners, including the Chairman of AYM Shafa Energy.
Delivering a goodwill message on behalf of the Speaker, Hon. Amadu described the road walk as an emerging national platform for health awareness and social cohesion. He commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his commitment to policies that prioritise citizens’ welfare, health and inclusive governance.
Amadu also praised the Chairman of the Association of Physical Fitness Clubs, Bauchi State chapter, Hon. Aminu Garu, for successfully organising the event and strengthening the association’s impact. He acknowledged the Bauchi State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Alhaji Auwal Jatau, stressing the importance of collaboration between federal and state legislatures in advancing people-focused initiatives.
Highlighting the participation of persons with disabilities, Amadu described their involvement as a strong message of inclusion and equal opportunity. He also lauded the presence of security agencies and private sector partners, noting that sustainable development thrives on cross-sector collaboration.
The event concluded with appreciation to organisers, sponsors and participants for their role in promoting healthy living and community engagement.
